The South Carolina Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf is intentional about developing interpreters who identify as Black, Indigenous, or Persons of Color (BIPOC).
Increasing the number of certified black and brown interpreters is the goal, to better match the community members we serve.
To that end, South Carolina Registry of Interpreters, in partnership with MyASLTeacherROCKS, LLC,
now offers skill development scholarships for BIPOC interpreters whose next step is a certification performance exam.
